Cupid’s Crush
  • 2 oz First Light Dark Roast Coffee Whiskey
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 oz Strawberry Syrup*
  • 2 Dashes Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters
  • 1 Egg White

*Strawberry Syrup Ingredients:

• 2 Cups Strawberries, hulled and quartered
• 1½ Cups Sugar
• 1 Cup Water
• 1 Pinch Salt

Preparation:
Combine strawberries, sugar and salt in a small saucepan and muddle well until the berries have released their juices and the mixture resembles a loose jam. Add the water and stir together over low-medium heat just until the sugar dissolves completely; remove from heat, let cool and then transfer to a jar and allow to infuse in the refrigerator overnight. The next day, strain the mixture, discard solids (or save for toast) and bottle the syrup.

Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake without ice for at least 10 seconds; add ice, shake again to chill and strain into a coupe glass. Carefully top with four drops of bitters and drag through them with a pick to create beautiful heart-shaped designs. (Add edible gold flakes if you’re really trying to impress your date!)
